Philippine Consulate General Inaugurates Sentro Rizal Honolulu

26 August 2021, Honolulu, Hawaii, USA – Consul General Joselito A. Jimeno and National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) Chair Arsenio J. Lizaso formally inaugurated Sentro Rizal Honolulu through a virtual event attended by the various sectors of the local community in Hawaii, consular corps, audiences in the Philippines, and other stakeholders.

The virtual event was highlighted by a lecture on “Living Filipino Cultures and Core Values” by former NCCA Chair and renowned historian, Professor Felipe De Leon, Jr., which was a good introduction to understanding our Filipino culture and heritage.

Performances from world-class resident artists of the Cultural Center of the Philippines such as the Ballet Philippines, Madrigal Singers, Bayanihan Philippine Folk Dance Company, and the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra capped the virtual inauguration.

The virtual inauguration of Sentro Rizal Honolulu is a joint project of the Philippine Consulate General in Honolulu and the NCCA.

Sentro Rizal Honolulu is a cultural institution that will promote Philippine history, culture, languages, and arts to local audiences in Hawaii. The Center is located at the newly-renovated chancery of the Philippine Consulate General in Honolulu located on Pali Highway. It is now the 35th Sentro Rizal operating across the globe. End.
