Philippine pop group SB19 recently concluded the United States leg of their “WYAT (Where You At)” Tour with shows in New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco this November.
As the concurrent NCCA Youth and Sentro Rizal Ambassadors, SB19 visited the Sentro Rizal Centers in the aforementioned cities and participated in cultural activities with the Filipino community.
SB19 visits SR New York
SB19 headed to New York for their first stop where they visited Sentro Rizal at the Philippine Center.
The group encouraged the Filipino-American youth to immerse themselves in their Philippine heritage through the Filipiniana collection found in SR Centers.
SR Los Angeles holds talkback event with SB19
Following their sold-out concert at the Avalon Hollywood Theater, SB19 visited SR Los Angeles and met with members of the Filipino community at a talkback session on 14 November 2022.
They shared their thoughts about the importance of Filipino values to the youth and about their advocacy as the NCCA’s Youth and Sentro Rizal Ambassador.
SR San Francisco hosts baybayin activity with SB19
Each of SB19’s members—Pablo, Josh, Stell, Ken and Justin—created baybayin-inspired artworks with the help of the Filipino American Community in the Bay Area for “Sulat Baybayin: A CalligraFilipino Exclusive With SB19”.
The event was facilitated by Taipan Lucero, the Filipino visual artist who recently exhibited his artworks at SR San Francisco.
