Rizal Day activities

SR Muscat held cultural activities with the Philippine School in Oman (PSO) and donated books to the PSO’s library.

SR Doha honored Rizal with a poetry reading of “To the Filipino Youth” and a violin performance by the Philippine International School Qatar.

SR Phnom Penh held a reading of the poem “To The Philippines” and shared a short film about Rizal on their Facebook page.

SR Ankara hosted a poetry reading of “Awit ng Biyahero” and a film showing of “Rizal’s Pen.”
SR Buenos Aires held a special screening of the film “Rizal sa Dapitan.”

SR London hosted a poetry reading of “Huling Paalam.

SR Bangkok screened a poetry reading of “Canto del Viajero” and a performance of “Canto Patriotico de Maria Clara.”

SR Seoul held a reading of “Mi Ultimo Adios” and a poem about Rizal by Korean poet Cho Byung-Hwa titled “In the Philippines.”

SR Hong Kong hosted a reading of “Awit ng Biyahero”, recognizing Hong Kong as a refuge where Dr. Jose Rizal was able to translate his works and focus on his writing.

SR San Francisco hosted a watch party of GMA historical fantasy “Maria Clara at Ibarra” for Filipino community.

SR New York’s Bayani Series featured the national hero Jose Rizal in a lecture by historian Dr. Jose Victor Torres.
Christmas celebrations

All-male acapella group Exit 245 serenades SR Washington DC with Filipino Christmas songs “Pangarap na Pasko” and “Ang Pasko ay Sumapit.”

SR Ottawa hosted a piano concert titled Himig Filipino: An Afternoon of Filipino Classical Music.
